논엘로퀀트는 임정주가 2018년 시작한 연작입니다. 정해진 기능에서 잠시 벗어난 형태는 놓이는 공간과 사용자의 선택을 만나 새로운 쓰임을 얻습니다.
나란히 놓고, 높이 쌓고, 그 위에 무언가를 올려보세요. 하나의 형태가 작은 조각이 되기도, 당신의 생활 속 사물이 되기도 합니다.
noneloquent is an ongoing series begun by jungjoo im in 2018. freed from a fixed function, each form finds new uses through the space it occupies and the choices of its user.
place them side by side, stack them high, or set something on top. a form can become a small sculpture or an object in your everyday life.
논엘로퀀트는 정해진 기능 없이, 사용자가 스스로 쓰임과 목적을 만들어 가는 형태에서 시작되었다.
지금까지 100여 가지의 형태를 만들며 크기와 소재에 따라 달라지는 쓰임을 탐구해 왔다. 나무에서 콘크리트로, 일상의 물건에서 높이 4,500mm의 토템으로 그 가능성을 넓히고 있다.
어린 시절 gw-basic으로 게임을 만들고 픽셀로 그림을 그렸다. 지금도 사진을 다듬으며 픽셀의 세계를 마주한다. 이 경험은 디지털 세계의 재료에 대한 관심으로 이어졌다.
이번에는 3차원 공간을 구성하는 복셀을 재료로 논엘로퀀트를 만들었다. 사용자가 이 형태들에 어떤 새로운 쓰임을 만들어 줄지 궁금하다.

through over a hundred forms, i have explored how scale and material shape their use. from wood to concrete, from everyday objects to a 4,500 mm totem, the possibilities continue to grow.
as a child, i made games with gw-basic and drew in pixels. i still work with pixels when editing photographs. these experiences led me to think about the materials of the digital world.
this time, i used voxels, units of 3d space, as a material for noneloquent. i am curious about the new uses people will find for these forms.
